Finally a bit of an update. Been spending, spending spending!! Decided to fit a new loom after cleaniing and inspecting the old one. Thanks Norbo. Today I picked up my wheels, and very shinney thay are ;D I was going to do them myself but I just haven't got the time. Started fitting this evening after a visit to Fowlers for them to give my credit card a battering. Nice new wheels and tyres. You don't get a lot for £100s worth of genuine bits! Front wheel in. Question?? Which way round should the rear sprocket be? Pic 1 or Pic 2? Pic 1 Pic 2 Cheers.

Mines at pic 2, but that doesn't mean it's right.

I'd say picture 2 is the correct way. The sprocket is just weight reduced at the centre, (normally they are not) so you shall put it with the weight reduced side facing outwards like on picture 2, that way the sprocket won't come out of line.
Though, one could argue about the precision of the chain run on a bone stock bike. Sometimes the sprockets doesn't line up very well, (because of swingarm might be a few mm out of whack from factory etc) so best bet is to measure it (though, this has to be done with the stuff bolted up and wheel properly adjusted obviously). Who knows, perhaps your sprockets will line up better if you turn the sprocket around? It's not very likely, but there is a possibility that it could.

Fitted sproket as in Pic 2, thanks. I've had a busy w/e in the garage. Fitted wheels: Followed by rebuilt engine: With the help off my apprentice as I've a dodgy old back! Then loads of little bits that take all the time. ;D

Next job after finally getting the correct brake pistons was to bleed the brakes. I was not looking forward to it but only took 10mins!! Did have a brand new master cylinder though!

It Lives! ;D ;D Started the bike up last night. I was a bit worried about not putting enough oil through so mixed up to much oil in a premix (how much should I add to 1Litre?) and oiled the plugs but got it sorted in the end. It ticks over like a dream. Only problem is the head gasket leaking dispite a bit of Yam Bond either side of it. I am going to either fit a genuine, bit pricey!! or try an NK copper one. Any veiws on this? Cheers

Cheers Marsbar, I left it over 24hrs as I read a few posts about using a pattern gasket on here. The surfaces were clean as well!

I've tried that Nigel. I think it's just a cheap gasket and it's a simple fix unlike my last 4 stroke rebuild! I'll get one at the w/e and Norbo has sorted my paintwork so only a couple of weeks away from being on the road ;D ;D Can't wait!

Got me paint work today ;D Drove up to Norbo's and collectted it. Very nice to meet you Norbo. Very pleased with the job. Couldn't resist sticking it on the bike. Not all bolted on but looks mighty fine! Only one little problem and thats the rear end off my bike. I think the frame might have taken a hit at some point as it all seems on the piss. This is what I mean about the back end. Any ideas?

hard to say from pic,but have you tried loosening the bolts on the subframe and tweeking it as you tighten? seem to recall a slight bit of play on mine which would twist things if i didnt take it up.but dont think it was that far out in first place.

hard to tell whether it is the seat and tail piece which is out,or rear light and indicators.is it poss a bit of both and that is making it sit that far out?

Thats strange. If you look at the last pic. the grab rail is nice and square to the clocks, and the top of the tail piece is nice and square to the grab rail

It's difficult to get a photo that dosn't distort but the indictors are slightly off as well. When I bolt the rear subframe on the holes didn't line up propery, I had to encourage it together!

Checked mine and i've got 200mm from the ouside off the main fram rails at the back bolting on point and 210mm at the front one's. The frame looks higher on the left as well Too late now, do they still straighten frames?

I had thought of that but having just finished it I'm going to ride it for the summer and strip it in the Autumn then either get the frame on a jig or buy a new frame. It's too shiney to start with a scaffold tube

wrap some rag round the the frame and then slowly bend back to the right position.something like a 3 foot pipe should move it ok. thats what i would do.if its the subframe.even easier.just take it off and bend in a vice. loosely fit the tail piece and the backlight till its all inline ;D
