I have a German 4lo frame and wondered if you guys would remove or leave the steering lock on the side of the headstock,i was going to remove it but just wondered what the general concensus is. also whats the best method for removal and to fill the hole afterwards Thanks in advance

If it has the lock cover, i'd leave it. You can alway sorce up a lock and key sometime.
If you want to hide the fact it a german, get busy with the grinder to take it off and then the welder to close the hole.
Don't see any other way you could do it

i have removed mine and welded a small blanking plate over the top. atb

I did the same as that, welded a bit on and got a UK ignition switch.
