gday, at the moment my pistons are 1.5mm oversize, i will need to rebore ,hopefully to 1.75, worst case 2mm, i have genuine head gasket and this will have to be bored as well, what i need to know is ,do you have to modify the head in anyway? i realise it getting close to its service life as far as boring goes, would i be better off trying to track down some fresher barrells, your thoughts and experience on this is most welcome, having said all this the bike will never be a everyday ride type of bike , more like a once a F/N pose thing and something to look at while having a beer.thanks

anybody else, the piston at 1.5 is about the same diameter as the yamaha gasket,am i correct in assuming the piston only travels as far as the top of the barrel, as mentioned easlier this barrel maybe being bored out to abit over 2mm, does the squish area need to be modified? thanks again

thanks all, here is my problem, the pistons are at 1.5mm o/s, the workshop isnt sure weather 1.75 will be enough to get rid of the score marks,so may have to go to 2mm o/s, i would be happier to only have to go to the 1.75 to prolong the engines life, thanks again to those who replied,

Hi Ken, I'm pretty sure you can have your barrels re-sleaved when the time comes.
