Have just striped down the engine on my LC2 and removed the oil pump. This has the number 4li stamped on the cable pulley. As i remember this is the number for the 250LC. Does it matter? is there any difference between these pumps and can I use this?

The pulley on the pump was a common part so is marked 4L1 on most although some are IMI.
Should have a yellow dot of paint on one screw head although might be gone by now. 250 pump flows less oil than the 350 due to the drive worm and internal gear being different.
If you take the pump off the 350 worm should have 5 threads where 250 has 7. Been covered on here before so pics are somewhere.

My 83 LC2 has 4L1 stamped on the pulley as well. As mentioned some of the later 4LO 350LCs also had 1M1 on the pulley www.rd350lc.net/pagePART.htmTone

Have just checked and it is (Thank god!) a 350 oil pump. Thanks for all the help.
