Got the bike on the road at last ;D. Took it out today for the first time, 30 mile round trip, taking it nice and easy as a newly rebuild motor. It pulls away great from the standing position ( have had to up size pilots to 25's with airs screws turned out 1 1/2 turns out). Question is:- I'm doing 50mph in 5th / 6th at approx 5000rpm, wind throttle open and no pick up . But if i open it up through 1st,2nd & 3rd, the bike revs right through into the power band. Is this just the normal for a YPVS, do you have to drop and couple of gears from top at 50mph to accelerate hard away ??. Still got to pull the plugs out to check colour, but does put a smile on your face.

No not standard, barrel's have been ported and also have micron pipes and a Zeeltronic all in one unit fitted - 31K motor in a LC. Pulled the plugs out today and they were light grey in color, but noticed the carb sync was out - left-hand carb not fully opening - traced it to a kink / route in the throttle cable below the air filter housing. This is now sorted, may get time to give it a run out Monday / Tuesday - central heating pump groaning it's t*ts off so must keep the wife happy first. Will let you know how it goes !.

Microns famous for being flat at 5 - 6k
Some say it can be jetted around but others say not.
Some say if you want midrange buy a four stroke ;D
