I presume most or at least some of you have had your bikes on a Dyno at some point. I took mine yesterday, put it up on the ramp plugged it in and started her up.. The dyno machine couldn't read my revs,, Readings were more than double what they should of been and very erratic. I know that we have a wasted spark but didn't realise these machines couldn't read correct.. Anyone have a solution??? Also on another related matter, I got myself a Koso tacho for my next build, I tried it on my first bike with the same sort of problem as the Dyno.. double the reading.. I know quite a few people use Vapour tacho's, do you get the same problem with these and if so how is it cure??? Can anyone help before I pull the rest of my hair out....

Resistor plugs/caps should help. If the dyno is reading double, it's either picking both plugs up due to the lack of suppresion (no resistor plugs) or hasn't been set up correctly on the dyno. If this is Kev's in Cradley, I reckon your bike is at fault! If you have resistor plugs/caps, then make sure your earths are OK. The KOSO clocks should be setupable for for 1,2 or 4 cyls, is the setting correct??

No its not Kevs Dyno, its a new one opening up in Cannock.. I did the wiring for it and my run was a tester.. I dont have resister plugs or caps fitted so will give em a go.. Regards the clocks, looks like I need to read the manual....
If all else fails Marty, then I'll call him...

That sounds to me that the dyno wasn't set up for wasted spark properly, the lack of resister plugs/caps could cause spikes and glitches in the readout but you should still get a reading.
I always have problems with the TZR trying to get a reading let alone double! Nowhere to put the take off cables. The LC generally goes straight on without any probs.
Sounds just like teething probs with a new dyno to me, sure they'll get it sorted

You are correct.. It is a dyno jet machine, the operator has since read the instructions and now knows how to change the settings... He is having trouble with the cooling fans not delivering enough air flow.. hes now purchased a three phase 11kw fan motor and duct, I reckon he's now gonna have trouble keeping the doors shut!!!!
