Was talking about this with a mate last night and was surprised how long I've owned some of my bikes. So how long have you and your true love been a couple I'll start things off, I've had my F2 YPVS since 1992 and my 350LC since 1993. Tony

Hi,
Bought my Lc2 in 1989 but only owned it a few years.
Turned 40 in 2009 and decided to relive my youth with a project, first bought a 350R as a wreck then found my original Lc2 rolling chasis on ebay so had to buy it.
Now a 31k/Vj22 hybrid with a stroked motor and will never sell again

Had an original 1981 Elsie in 1990 and sold it after a year. Moved to Norway in 2001 and saw a LC2 for sale in 2009 and with 40 and a mid life crisis approaching fast bought it. Now started doing a full nuts and bolts rebuild with help from Norbo and this forum.

Bought my RD350R in 1992.
My RD350LC is a bit like the farmer's axe. It is the same but it has had three heads and two handles.
Got my first RD350LC in Feb 1981. Have had at least one continuously since then and haven't sold any complete bikes. Currently have two and they may both contain parts from the original but I have lost track of what went where.

I've had it for four years now. Damn, time flies by fast! The thought of selling her is depressing - especially as you don't know if the new owner will be a good owner or a total t**t - but I have thought about it tbh. If I ever sell it, I know I will miss it like hell. Oh and if I ever sell it, I'll buy a new stroker sooner or later anyways. Maybe not an RD, but some sort of big stroker. I must admit I love the way you sit on a mx bike, and they're much lighter and easier to flick around with. I'd love to have a 500 cc, they're badass. And I want it with fat arse SM wheels aswell. But actually I'd rather have 17" rims from a road bike to get the cush drive. They're much heavier but screw that, you gotta have some quality aswell eh? A motocross with no cush drive anywhere + riding on asphalt = mashed gearbox/clutch.

However, i also own an original 92 fireblade which i bought 5 years ago and still haven't ridden that so...........

Mine arrived in 4 boxes and a rolling chassis back in 1999 as a 250LC, back on the road by 2001, slowly mutating with a few mods, but now a 350LC that still looks (a bit) like an LC So 12 years, (I have fixed the droopy stand seen in the pictures)

I bought my 1984 RD350LC from the original owner in 1986 and still got it! I have done more than 32000km on it, mostly during my student days. Rebuilt in 1997 and am busy tidying up a few items at present. Not going to part with it ever, in fact it has just been joined by a 1983 RD350YPVS (31K)! ;D

Bought a brand new 350LC in June 1981, sold it in 1984 for a GPZ 750. Regretted it and pined and pined for another one, despite owning all sorts of other bikes, including my current GSX-R750 K5 Barry Sheene replica. In May, found a mint Candy Blue '82 in Kent and paid £3400 for it. Paid another £600 to repair it after the crank snapped. Now it's running sweet and honest - love it to bits and will never sell it. It's so different to the Gixxer and a joy to ride as a change.

Not an LC but I've had my RD400 since 1989, bought it off a m8. Awaiting it's sixth rebuild, but it's a bit down the list unfortunatly Owened the LC/Hybrid race bike in one piece since 2009, but there are bits on it that have been in my shed for years! My TZR is a bit like Triggers broom, I think it's only the forks and rear wheel off the original bike

Had my first LC in 1987ish-part ex for a CB900 at the sweet old age of 18!!
My current hybrid, well, I've owned some of it since around 1998!!
I had a 4L0 with matching frame and engine numbers and did the original hybrid conversion to RGV running gear around 2002/3-this was the white one as in the Gibsons Add. As I wanted to fit a valve motor, I bought a frame and built the current hybrid up around 2004. The Allspeeds, footrests, seat and a few other bits on the black hybrid were from the original LC, so some of the bike I've owned for 13 years, the rest for 7!!

New rule Your years of ownership should be reduced to zero if you have ever put it on Ebay to try and sell it ;D I haven't changed my mind since Stafford last year-think it was a 7 year itch?? Anyway, can't sell it now as it makes more power than yours Got the 70bhp itch now
