just one thing i forgot , the barrels and head in the oven, did you blast them yourself or get them aqua blasted, the reason i ask is ive been quoted $350 to get the whole engine done but as i have my own sand blasting cabinet i thought if i got a softer median like crushed walnut shells i could do it myself if i cover up all the critical bits, it seems a waste to me if they are to be painted after being made all shiney and new lookin.

you are right nut, thats why the few people i know doing up bikes get all the bits from the UK or USA, everything is so dear here if you can get it at all and most services are dear aswell unless you luck out like i did with my paintjob. a couple of blokes with modern sportsbikes really feel like they are being ripped off big time with getting services or whatever, but being new bikes they dont feel like they have any alternative.
