I just saw this statement on ebay about 10w full power barrels is this correct "hi .. all rd125lc barrels have stamped 10w.. most of them are from 12a frames.. the full power 10w barrels are hard to get hold of... if your barrel has y1 or y2 on the right hand side of it.. its restricted... if its got NO number it is FULL POWER! and should have a 90% inlet.. and the full power barrels had a wider transfore ports.. ANY INFO ..rd bill 07816038437" ? Item number 270839978859

didn't think the barrels where restricted? ? if they were for the british market and restricted they would be stamped 12a but they never restricted the barrels that's why they are 10w.i thought the y1 and y2 could of been a mould number? i could be wrong?

Hi. All square type barrels ie mk1 & 2 rd125lc have 10W00 stamped on them. Cast near the reed block on the right hand side of the barrel is either Y-1 or Y-2. Y-1 being the mk1 Y-2 being the mk2. To be full power you would need a mk1 10W pipe,CDI and a 10W00 Carb. Hope this helps

Well........................... My matching numbers 10w MK1 obviously has a 10W-00 barrel BUT...... it has NO markings at all on the rhs near the reed block (probably why it so fast compared to yours Mellow ...... ha ha ha ). I also have here in my spares several barrels marked Y-1 and Y-2. Some pople have said that some barrels were restricted but I'm not so sure, as the 12a I had when I was 17 with just an Allspeed pipe and needle raised one clip was at least as fast as the 10w I've got now and this one goes very very well.

my mk1 has y1 on it but has a 10w carb, cdi and micron and seams as fast as i remember them to be, it would be intersting to put a 10w with no markings on it to see if there is any diffrence

i dont think they were different the dt has different porting, suppose you could get one with bad casting in the ports which might restrict it.

i really dont think there is a difference, i have several barrels one of which is a y1 off a german import 10w. No difference in porting compared with a y2, ive never come across an unstamped one, have people had barrels over the years and ground the numbers off? then some one has got hold of one( may have been have been tuned) then said their the ones you want, will do 110mph with one of those barrels on. some one correct me if im wrong

Well i thought i would look at the barrels i have,i got 2 with y2 on,3 with y1 on,and yes 1 with no number stamped on,doesn't look like its been removed, will get a few pics of it on here,it may be that the first ones never got stamped, then they decided to start to place a stamp on them? any way i will have a good look at the measurements of the ports etc and see if there's any difference.

Lol as we have checked that it doesn't seem to be any difference between the the internal sizes of ports etc,but at the weekend i purchased of eBay a running engine a spare engine that had been stripped switch gears and a load of other bits, and on the spare engine the barrel, you guessed it has no markings on,will do a second checked on this one.
