Don't do it. That's my advice.
If you want a 350, you will be disappointed with a 500. They are great bikes, but really not the fun you would expect one to be.
You also never get a cheap one. Buy one that needs work and your going to end up spending more than you think. Bodywork is near on impossible to find and if you do it breaks all the time. Engines are very expensive to re-build, you won't get much chance out of £2.5k these days. Even the guys building the engines don't recommend them these days, as some parts are getting hard to find.
I'm sure someone will be along to defend the 500's, but they are a bike that has almost out priced itself these days. How much do you think this one will make? I bet it goes for between £4-£5k.

If it's the one I've seen I wouldn't buy it, still only running on 3, no chance your just buying someone elses expensive problem.
Would also be suspicious of the low mileage original bore when he states when he stripped the motor 2 of the pistons were the wrong type. Just means some sod without a clue has been in there.
Believe that if you want a 500 you should splash the cash and buy a minter, you will just spend more in the long run. Prefer to spend 6k on one with rebuild receipts than 4.5k without and not running properly.
