Is it possible to replace the 'window' on the carb? Had them vapour blasted now can hardly see the slide through them If so where can you get the window from?

I know it's too late now but next time use a bit off silicone to protect the windows. that's what I used and it worked a treat. Try speaking to a watch maker, i'm sure they can recommend something for removing scratches from glass.

you can flat and polish glass the same way as you would to car paint work.ive done a few car lights and windows that were scratched up,obviously glass is much harder than paint so its time consuming but it is possable. with the glass windows on the carbs i would put a put of p1200 round a match stick or tube from a cotton but and try flat out the etching marks, them 2000 wet and dry and then some g3 on a cotton or similar but but it will be time consuming fot little end result, depends how fussy/bothered you are.
