very easy to kick, very hard to start after standing for a while,so rollers are a good idea, rather ride than muck about getting sweaty.

If it was a big single four stroke then maybe I would think about it as they can give a nasty kick-back. My mate had to have his ankle fused due to that, but with our small 2 strokes I don't see the point. If I leave mine for a few weeks or so it does take about 8 kicks to start. I suppose it depends how long you have left if standing for but if it's just a day or so and hasn't started after say about 8 or 10 kicks it means your bike is trying to tell you something. I must admit I hate push starting bikes as it does knacker you out. A cheaper option would be to ask your misus to push ;D - or maybe not.

Ive got one of those solo starters for starting my race/track bike... Its an excellent tool and i couldnt be without it now - but i didnt pay £600+ for mine like they are new! good thing to have in the garage though. ( It needs a very god deep cycle battery to get the most from it which is another £100+) Cheers, Lee. ![](http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr274/hondablade/d1f4ab3e.jpg) ![](http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr274/hondablade/P1010029-1.jpg) ![](http://i491.photobucket.com/albums/rr274/hondablade/155.jpg)

how about making one using a 9"grinder as the power source, ive seen what some blokes have done on here and i reckon they could make em easy. i got my old big grinder here for about$70 AUD and its a slow start so the initial start up doesnt want to torque it out of your grip, they are around 2400watts(around 3hp) surely they would have enough omph.

maybe, but you could gear it down a bit and i dont think those big grinders have the same RPMs as the little 4 inch ones or people would be getting cut in half, they can be very dangerous to the unwary,, in fact everytime i use my big grinder im very carefull, just like a chain saw

Charlie, maybe just try turning your fuel off approx 15-30 seconds before switching off. It should reduce your fuel gumming up the needle and seat in the carbs. Just thinkin...
