Well, the RD is stripped down to the bare frame awaiting a bit of welding repair before powder coating. I've designed a paint job which is a mixture of a couple of the original 31K designs, the new FZ1 and also inspiration from Yamahas 50th anniversary colours. I'm very happy with it, but Don't know which way to go with the wheels. White or gold? Opinions greatly appreciated.

That's the thing, I bloody lived on this bike last year and next year will be no different.I love the white but I'm getting rid of the polished alloy on the forks and peg hangers for the same reason that Its a faff and a half to keep nice. Last pic, promise Very RD 400 esque

Thanks loads for the ideas guys, some really nice ones I'd not thought of doing. I'll start my build thread next month, theres not much to post yet, it's all in the taketh away stage and no giveth. As far as the wheels go.................Three more to scratch my chin over. I'll scratch while I build.

Yes indeed, what a bike! Doesn't quite look like that now, after 2 sets of body work, 2 seats, new rearsets, and new brakes it's in bits now for new motor/pipes/carbs/rad and 3rd set of bodywork. Being indecisive is expensive Steve

Funny you picked that scheme, great minds and all that Bought some decals at the beginning of the year and only had a good look at them last week, was disapointed as in the picture in the ebay add they seemed to have black striping but when I took of some application tape they were dark blue and I already had the tank painted with black so had to hand cut the pinstripes from some sign vinyl I had. Red decals were all different sizes so had to cut all them. Took 3 hours but now got this. Tank done differently in Lc2 style ish Steve Steve
