Hi, I've not been on here since selling my YPVS but still have my aircooled RD350 race bike which I am rebuilding. Asweel as the RD I have built a XJ550 into a cafe racer which I monoshocked using XT550 rear swingarm & LC rear shock. The thing is the spring is a tad to hard when on the lowest preload setting. Does anyone know the poundage in the standard LC spring so I can try & get a lower rated spring to fit to help me from being jarred ou tthe saddle everytime I hit a bump.
Cheers Col.

OK . I can help with this .
The problem with swoping the spring on the shock is that the spring and priload are set to work with each other and if you put a lighter spring on you will use more of the oil filed priload and the bike will feel springy and not handle at all .
The best opshon it so fit a RD125LC rear shocker they are a lighter shock to start with and a little lenger so improve the handeling as well . they are what a lot of racers use on there bike s. i my self have 1 fitted to my race bike .
Hope this helps .

Cheers Norbo, yeh i knew that about the 125LC shock as I used that previously on my old LC I dont really need the raised height for the bike as it sits nice as it is & can appreciate the damping may not match the new spring if I manage to get one. I really need to know the spring rate though then decide what way i wil go with it all.
Cheers Col.
