Was thrashing the 350 today and it started running like a sack and the flatspot has got larger namely starting at about 4k !! on inspection I noticed that condensation was forming on the carbs with the right hand one being worse. I also noticed that on the top of the right hand carb(the one without the choke) in front of where the slide screws in there are what looks like brass inserts in small holes and one appears to be missing and there is what appears to be just a hole. Would that have any bearing on the fault The engine also sounds noisier but there again that could be me imagining it. It still seems ok in the power band though !!!

Just had a look at a set of 31K carbs I have and as you say on the RH carb there is a hole at the front which isn't blanked off with a ball bearing but you can't seem to blow through it. The one behind it that has the ball bearing protruding is right above the hole on the inside of the carb in front of the slide where the extra fuel comes out via the rubber link pipe between the carbs when the choke is pulled out. On the left hand carb both holes have been blanked with a ball bearing. This is done to block the hole after the passage has been drilled.
