Gents, Been enjoying my restored LC for a years or so now and its been trouble free riding except for 2 minor hickups....
Twice now she's nipped up on me, but alli have to do is roll in to a stop, wait ten mins kick her over and away she goes. Not the end of the world but just abit concerned shes gonna do it one day when im banked over on a bend and things might not be so easy!
It only happens when ive been out for a long ride and been on more than 3/4 throttle for long-ish periods.
Anyway - im running a set of david higgs HIGGSPEED's exhaust and 1 size bigger on the main jets, but other than that shes standard. Oil pump in use with fully syn quality oil. She doesnt idle aswell as id like and if anyhting id say im over oiling her a touch (smokey at times when plodding round town).
My theory is that i may need to go up one more on the mains as she may be abit lean on 3/4 throttle hence the heat siezures - i dont think its an oil issue but feel free to correct me if you think im wrong.
Come on you experts - comments are welcome.
Cheers.

Have a read of the thread "more mikuni carb tuning" in the technical section. Do the tests and that should help you out. I found it very informative and easy to understand

this was happening on my lc, at first i thought it was nipping up, so i put some bigger jets in and still the same so i changed the stator plate and that sorted it, the windings must have been breaking down when it got hot
