Butch, I had a problem where once warmed up and giving it some welly it would cut out which eventually ended in a seize before I got to the bottom of the problem. It was suggested that maybe my stator was braking down at high temps/revs. So I sent the stator off to west country windings who checked it out and reported that it was fine. I got them to rebuild it anyway as i was told that they can be intermitently troublesome. Refitted it to my rebuilt motor and I have never seen the problem again. Maybe if you can try another stator,

the bolt seaping oil wouldn't be the problem, make sure the pilot circuit in the carb is clean, the next thing i would look at is the cdi, reg/rec
