Hello,
Due (in part) to having various expensive ignition problems with my bike, I was considering fitting a Zeeltronic CDI and powervalve controller to my bike. How hard are they to fit? I'm a semi decent mechanic myself, but wiring has always scared the bejeesus out of me if I'm honest. I recently replaced the fusebox on my F2 and although I wasn't expecting it to be hard, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be especially as I crimped all of the terminals... (I think I've always been particularly worried about soldering!)
I can read a wiring diagram, and can crimp terminals etc, but if I buy one will I have to completely re make my wiring loom, or is it just a question of fitting spade connectors to the wires, and then fitting them into connector blocks in the right place? Does it come with everything I need to do this?
Apologies for sounding naive on this subject, I've always tended to avoid wiring on bikes where possible in the past, but I realise that doing this shouldn't be as hard as, say, tracing a wiring fault on an injected bike... but how hard is it?
Thanks!
Mark.

HI marjay, I fitted an all in one box to my LC with YPVS engine fitted. The wiring diagram was very easy to follow. The box came with bare wires ( no connectors ), so be prepared for a little wiring work ie. fitting connectors and maybe extending bits of the wiring to your loom - all depends on where you decide to mount the box. Look in the rebuild section under "My Project" some photos on there from my build. Keep all your old electrics for the connectors mate.

They are a doddle to fit mate - you won't need any electronics experience as the wiring diagrams are easy to follow The best tip I could give you is to use the same connectors on the Zeeltronic (they don't come with connectors on the wires) as the ones which are on your loom already, that way, you can 'plug 'n play' with the Zeel if you like I personally soldered all the connectors, but I replaced the loom at the same time (...and the Coils, HT leads, Plug Caps, Ignition Switch... : as I was having some 'electrical issues' - but you shouldn't have any problems wiring the Zeel into an existing loom as the cabling on them is reasonably long - for example, I wanted to mount my Zeel under the seat rather than under the tank and had no problems running the wires here 'n there - all the cables from the zeel unit are in a protective sleeve (a bit like the cables coming out of the clocks) and the only mod I had to make was to slit the sleeve to allow me to run the cables in various directions. I had more trouble working out the timing advance than anything else - but even without playing with that side of the Zeel, it mad a massive improvement to the bike

Easy to wire up just add an extra earth wire or 2
