Probably been asked a million times.... but can you change the oil seal without splitting the crankcases? Mine has just started leaking this weekend!

Great thx. Do you have to remove the gear shaft to get the old one out - is there anything I need to know?

Take the sprocket and tab washer off Pride the old one off. Thin screwdriver will do.apply a smidge of grease to the new seal. Tap into place.I used a large socket.job done

I bought a new one off Norbo the last time I was getting bits, so I'm gonna give this a try myself - sorry to hijack your thread mate but I was wondering if you could also replace the Gear Selector Shaft Bush without splitting the cases?

if you use a small pick you might get the gear selector shaft one out, but since its leaking anyway why not try I guess. Another way is to screw a self tapper into a seal to help get it out, but... that seal is small and thin so I wouldnt recommend that approach.
