Anyone tried fitting LED lamps to the clocks and dash on their RD350LC, are they available? or bright enough? If they are available anyone tried different coloured ones in the clocks? - will LED dash lamps stop the indicator relay from flashing properly, I have the standard indicator relay and 21W lamps fitted. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great Robin ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Try "UltraLeds". I haven't checked their site for a while but they used to do 12v leds with the resistor already built in to the bulbs. Not sure if it will work with the indicator signals though as the resistance might be incorrect for the flasher relay. You can get flasher relays that will work with the leds but never tried it on a bike before. Try to get some with the widest spread of light as leds usually have a narrower beem of light compared to filament bulbs. The backlit for the clocks will be the main problem as the filament bulbs spread the light over a much wider area, so even though the led is much brighter it still does not shine the clocks up very well. It's been a few years since a messed about with leds and dash lighting so thing might have improved since then. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I've got them for all the idiot lights, but they don't work too well as backlights in the clocks themselves as wiseric has mentioned, the LED's are a very 'directional' type light and even the ones which state they 'apread' the light don't work as well as the originals... I'm a keen electronic hobbyist and I've even tried making up little clusters of 3mm LED's pointing in different directions and inserted into the original 'slots' for the bulbs and they still don't seem to work aswell as the originals... Never mentioned, I just bought a few different types off peeps on ebay ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) But would be well chuffed if someone else has found better ones for the clock backlights

Have got some different types to try, off of eBay in the post, 10 LED's clustered on top and sides of wedge base, supposed to give off same amount of light all round, not just directional, will see if they fit and do the job for the clock lighting. They will be fine for the idiot lights, but maybe not for the indicator lamps in the dash, I will give them a try anyway, I will keep yer posted Robin ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

slightly off topic but a car i brought a few years ago had every dash bord bulb ians switches ncluding clocks changed to l.e.d's and they were way too bright for my liking so i stripped it and put it back to standard. the clocks had a fair few extra holes drilled in the back to mount the extra bulbs at a guess they had 30-40 l.e.d's to replace the standard 8 bulbs.they did light up very nice and even but just not to my taste so had to go. i do reacall it looking a bit of a mess with loads of extra wires every where and led's glued into holes with a hot glue gun but im sure on some small bike clocks a nice job could be achieved easily.

Wow! things have moved on. Wish those were around 5 or 6 years ago. I spent loads tring to get it right by trial and error. Ended up making my own.

£1.89 for a Pair, makes sense will last 6 x (or more) times longer than a normal lamp. brighter, but with no heat build up, vibration wont pop em, and wont have to skin my knuckles trying to get a dinky wee spanner on them tiny domed nuts!
;D
