It is with deep regret that I announce the death of my beloved RD 350LC!!(sob! sob!)
Seriously though, I was happily riding along and accelerating through 8000 rpm when suddenly something broke in the engine and this was followed by loss of power and severe vibration. I cannot now even turn the engine over on the kick-starter.
Before the failure, there was no sign of overheating nor any odd noises and everything seemed to be working OK.
Has anyone experienced a similar failure and any clues as to what could have gone wrong?
Strip-down begins next week!
Stan

Hi Butchers
What was the problem in the end? My LC had just been restored by the previous owner(according to him) before I bought it and had only done around 1000 miles before it went bang.

Hi Dave (Trubrit)
Yes it was me in Willington. What a coincidence that an almost identical LC turned up!!!
I'm starting the strip-down next week. See what horrors lurk down there. Thanks for your offer of help. I'll let you know what's gone wrong as soon as I know myself.
Thanks to all for your replies everyone!
Stan

I hope to have it fixed ASAP. If not, it'll be a £3500 garage ornament!
