Any thoughts as to how i can get the paint of my cylinder head (YPVS 31K) paint stripper isn't touching it? It looks a bit awkward to wet & dry it with all the head bolt holes so i was hoping to avoid that or am i just being a lazy sod?

Hi headcoats, i guess i haven't put enough on, the paint on the barrels came of easy enough but the head seems to have a lacquer coat on it which comes off but not the paint. i will just put more stripper on it.

a little tip (hope im not teaching any one to suck eggs)is use good quality paint stripper (pound land stuff is usless). lightly score the surface of the paint with some 60 or 80 grit sand paper, apply a thick coat of paint stripper and cover straight away with a carrier bag or bin bag so to keep the solvent in and make less mess.when the paint is all loosee use a old paint brush and some clean water to rinse off the paint striper.

thanks guys, i have used nitramors but i have to say i had never heard of the carrier bag trick. It's taken 3 nights but i have got there and i have to say the bag worked, still been a pain in the arse but worth it in end. Just waiting for oil seals to arrive then i can get the engine back together and start on the frame (blasted and powder coated)
