my restoration is coming along nicely.. onto the carbs now.. noticed today that the carb needle clips are in the top groove... as this bike is running 2mm oversize bores, transfer and inlet and exhaust ports are tuned..top of barrels are skimmed and running with micron pipes would it be ok for me to move the clip to the standard middle groove on the needles?

Yep i would definitely lower the clip(raise the needle),to the 2nd richest with the microns. Air screw in then out half a turn and mainjet in the 3 to 320 with airbox/340's with filters. ignition timing 1.5mm btdc(stock is 2.mm). B9EGV/EV plugs You will no doubt have to play around with the mainjet and needle position but this should be a safe starting point,if it runs clean from cold though richen it up some more then work down.
