Hi,
Bought a set of 31k engine cases off the bay, didn't hold out much hope of them being any good as there was a £25 BIN price.
Got them the other day and although they look scabby due to paint flaking and been a bit furry they appear to be an undamaged matching pair with a good untampered 31k - 08 number.
Strange thing is that they don't appear to have been in a valve. They have a bracket with 2 different mounts bolted to the engine bar mounts and they are lock wired so obviously been raced. They also have an alloy blank fitted where the rad pipe exits the cases for the head and a blank fitted where the water pump shaft locates above the main bearing. Very professionally done.
Should be easy enough to extract them but would suggest it ran an electric water pump.
Sidecar?
Steve

They also used those engines in the Banshee quads,
I am sure there was a lot of Quad racing back in the day
