the 250lc im restoring was fitted with tuned barrels..transfer ports filed..inlet and exhaust ports opened up and polished..lip on top of barrels have been skimmed to raise the compression.. barrels are 2mm oversize and were rebored and new pistons fitted before i bought the bke... bike also runs on fibre reeds and micron exhausts... the guy i bought the bike off said he had to DOWN JET the carbs for the bike to run right... he did numerous plug chops to sort this.. i myself did a plug chop before i stripped the bike down and plugs were fine...
i dont know a big lot about 2 strokes to be honest but always thought that if you fitted expansion pipes you had to pt in bigger main jets....
as im restoring the bike..for the time being until i source a set of standard untuned barrels would i be able to fit standard exhausts, keep the fibre reeds and run standard jetting or leave the smaller jets in the carbs thats in there now?

Not always some make ie Yamahas run rich on standard pipes/ airbox etc when they left the factory (dont quote me on this ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) Example i fitted a FMF Fatty front pipe to my WR200 i didnt jet up done a plug chop and the colour was a perfect grey/rich tea brown (never run brand new plugs when doing this) Ive just fitted Higgspeed expansion pipes to my Kawasaki H1 and again didn't jet up (after advice on going up two sizes) bike was perfect (plug chop again perfect) It now almost flips over backwards in the first two gears ;D you'll know when its jetted right it will run crisp as hell but some pipes will need upjetting (be warned) ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

If fitting std barrels and pipes keeping the fiber reeds just go back to std 250 jetting and middle clip setting on the needles should be fine ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
