Has anyone tried the first model FZR swinger in a 350 valve? It's similar to the FZ600 one but doesn't have the doglegs that go through the swing arm sides. I have one in pretty tidy condition that I think would co in really well.
Does anyone have a measurement for the width of the standard shock and the width across the bottom linkage where the shock bolts in? Dave

FZR250 2KR one fits. It also has dog-legs that don't go through the middle of the arm. ![](http://vjmc.servebeer.com/pics/jason/800_IMG_1555.JPG) May be the same as the 400 ?

CB250, was the rear swinger an easy install or rather was there much machining required? I assume it is made of aluminium and therefore much lighter than the standard steel item.

Bolted straight in. used the original YPVS bell crank & just made up dog bones of the correct length to set the ride height. Its silver painted steel if I remember correctly. Bike is abandoned in a garage 200 miles away at the moment - awaiting time to do the last few jobs before its finished.

CB250, thanks for the info. IF the FZR one is also made of steel, why did you change it? Do you know of aluminium swingers that will bolt straight in?

I had a scrap FZR250 2KR, so fitted front & rear ends - 17" wheels, a bit wider than stock.
The rear swinger is just generally better than the stock one, larger tubes, nicer rear caliper mounting and none of those bushes running through the middle of the arm. & I like a challenge - but it wasn't much of one anyway.
