G'day all
I've just stripped my LC motor down to the crankcases and will be soda blasting them I was wondering why Yamaha in their wisdom didn't paint the cases black like the rest of the engine, was it cost cutting or is there another reason and had anybody painted them BLACK I think it would look good!!!

Im sure they did on the ypvs it was only the LC that had a bear alloy finish on the casings . I fined the problem with painting casings is if you get a fuel leek it can and has in the past striped the paint of .

Norbo's reason for not painting sounds good to me Just use paint that are petrol resistant, such as CRC pro or Motip, 2K paint, powdercoat etc.
