How Do I have some vj22 forks that have been bead blasted when i bought them and now i want to paint them black but trying to keep the cost down other than getting them powder coated £££ any suggestions how to approach this one , i want to do them in a satin black finish , could i use frame paint or simonez engine paint or am i being a numpty , it's my first project so learning all the way all input always much appreciated . get them thoughly clean. get some etch primer give them just a covering of it. then 3 or 4 coats of normal primer. give it about a week to harden then flatten back with 800 grade paper wet. Then finally 3 or 4 coats of satin black. you can get all this in tins. theres a company called frost that do paint tins and all sorts of goodies. find their number and get them to send you a catalogue.

Are you painting them before fitting them, cos on the RGV forks you will probably strip the paint off when they are being fitted into the yokes??? Didn't someone on here just get theirs re-anodised in bright blue? can't remember the thread though.

R1 olly had his forks blue anodised give him a shout he might be able to help the thread is called getting there in the hybrid section
