My rd250lc is doing everything it should except start once it gets cold after a good thrashing .The only way to start it ,is to either crash start it, or pour some juice down its throat!!.Starts fine when its warm idles okay and revs out fine.I am thinking about changing the idle jets for some new ones ,as one was blocked after it had been sitting around for a long time.???I am pretty sure its a fuel problem ,not electrical .Any other ideas

Possibly, I never actually use the choke,I have obviously tried using it, to start it, but doesn"t make any difference

It could be you have the float bowls on the wrong carbs or the choke jet is blocked in the float bowl. If you take the bowls off you will see one hole is blanked off. This one goes on the RH carb WITHOUT the choke knob. If you spray some carb or contact cleaner down the hole in the other one you should see it come out on the inside of the float bowl. If it is gummed up with stale fuel I've found before if you pour boiling water into the float bowl and leave it a few minutes it softens up the gum enough to blow it out. Make sure you clean it out with carb cleaner before refitting. Tone.

Well I think I can eliminate the choke, gave it the clean of its life, took it out for a spin, sure enough after leaving to sit for 4 hours and letting it cool down, won't start choke in or out ?? I tried running it out of fuel and then switching to the reserve when it was warm and it kicked in to life no prob,so the fuel can definitely get there okay...

may be silly this but lcs have their own little way of starting. if cold i pull choke out, no revs and kick it once or twice and it starts starts without throttle wen warm if i gave it throttle at all warm r cold it wudent start

That is something I haven"t tried,I think when it is cold I naturally twist the thottle,I think it really is something as simple as that !!!!!!,cheers

Well you were absolutely right ,If its cold ,it needs no throttle at all ,otherwise it won,t start ,I don"t know how long it may of taken me to find that out ,,Cheers
