Was messing around with carb settings to try to cure the Micron inflickted stutter and was having problems getting the needle to locate while replacing the slides into the carbs. I have 31k carbs and would assume have the original slides for the carb. The needles are straight and once in seem to operate ok. The further I dropped the needle dowm the harder it seemed to get to locate them(unless it was because I was getting more p#ssed off !!) Is this the norm or do i have a needle or nozzle issue

I've had this prob nearly everytime I've refitted the carbs, I've done similar to ravedaddy and used the a lollipop stick to help locate the needle 'into the hole', I just use one of the lollipop sticks I'm using for balancing the carbs

Or pop into McDonalds and grab some of the wooden "Lolly" sticks you use to stir your Tea/Coffee whch are also handy for stirring paint when decorating.

I have standard airbox on so cant get access to back of carbs. i suppose I could remove cabs put slides in then relocate. Prob I have is reed block spacers and old hard airbox rubbers make carb removal a misson !!
