Hey Chris Man that is pure two stroke porn( well chosen back ground ) love it , some fantastic small details that are inspiring and making me want to find those parts and at 84 on the back end that's giant slaying country , nice one except for one thing you have set the bar high !! but i will get there at some point :-) cheers wb

Didn't realise you were a fellow southern member! Not many of us on here!
Unfortunatly no bike on the road at the mo', otherwise would have been good to get to ace (would be great to see the 'porn' bike in the flesh too!!)

Hindsight's a wonderful thing!
Trouble is we're only human, and this is an easy mistake to make. (that said............ i bet you'll never make the same mistake again!!)

Ahaaaaaaaa I've finally found u guuiiiiiise ;D Ever since seeing the brief and teasing vid of your bike on youtube which was JUST long enough for me to hear that rampant cackle those pipes produce, I've wanted to get in contact. I am in Essex and am hoping to undertake in something similar..well engine wise anyway, except I hope to slot mine in to a serious handling machine such as a Mito or Prilla 250, don't know yet. What I want to ask you is if you know what it is that causes that lovely cackle/rasp/rip noise that you simply never hear on virtually any other 350 based lump. Is it the overall short length of the pipes or simply just the length of the end cans? Saw you mentioned you need to lengthen because of oil on the tyre so do you think this risks losing that noise? Lastly (for now) I am looking to use a top end kit on a YPVS bottom end but I believe your's is a Banshee bottom end? I was advised that the Banshee's gear ratios are too wide so to stick with the YPVS is that true? Cheers for any feedback mate. ps I could have pm'd but thought any Q n A's in here only helps educate other's too

glad you noticed that cackle its got me why it does it my mates running a 485 with simular pipes and it dont make that noise maybe the paul turner port job has something to do with it,though it drives ya mad when trying to cruise at 70 and i never bothered to fit the long cans ill put up with the oil as it sound so good ,as for the bottom end maybe i said banshee but its not a banshe bottom end its a 31k with banshe barrels and since ya heard it last ive blown it up its now back together had to re sleeve the barrels match the port job which bob farnham did now 427cc with a longer 115mm hotrod crank, forged wsm pistons and straight cut primarys, since then have only fired it up twice and thank god she still has that cackle will dyno it in a few weeks and hope for some good numbers ,any thing ya need to know let me know ill be happy to help, good luck wiv ya build a rs build would be nice wiv 80bhp+

oh really it blew up so soon, after how many miles? I think your mate is Darren? I added you both on fb mainly so I could see his vid and tbh I thought his sounded the same as your's? So your barrels aren't nikosil plated?

Actually scratch that, Tony from Gibson's has said he has little experience but from what he's tested he's not been impressed!! Hmm bit stumped now.

Mate Roger is in the USA, I need a local guy with tons of experience, I don't even have a spanner to my name lol. I know that's not ideal for someone wanting a special but I don't see why there shouldn't be a way around that.

I reckon you should play safe then, forget big bores as no Pro in the uk has 'tons of experience', its pretty much all forumers who build these, as was said elsewhere Stan did some big cyls but fell out with the suppliers and he may know a bit but i think hes no expert. Roger can help even across the distance but he is not local as you say. Most Brits wont even go long stroke, let alone diff cyls, its the same in the bike world as cars. no bad thing, just different from country to country i guess, America was always upping cc's back in the day and the idea stuck as they had more distance than the uk between towns etc, same here in Aus. So the uk has traditionally been smaller engines than those other markets.
