Hi, just been to try and get my tapered head bearings matched and the guy said he needs the seat bit coz that has the bearing number on it does n e body know the numbers for the top and bottom race? also have contacted my local shop and they say tapered bearings are crap and they dont stock them or fit them coz they are no better than the standard genuine ones and they dont fit properly i always thought tapered were better. they can get me all the genuine yam bits forĀ£22. so now i dont know wether to get tapered or use the standard ball bearing set up

Pretty sure that all lc's and pv's used the same head bearings cos I've just been checking in a parts catalogue and they all have the same part number. I've got a set of tapered bearings for a pv that I don't need. They're brand new still in their box.....yours for a tenner if your're interested.

Tapers are fair easier to adjust mate, SSY125 is the kit of two bearings if memory if correct, Norbo has them at a very good price to!!

This is where my confusion is!!! My innner race even on its spacer (using RGV forks) is very loose and looks to me as the orignal RGV bottom race would fit which mean my frame as a larger bottom than top! can anybody give me a clue on this? Think my frame is an Brazian F2!

Mellow is right Vinze, the number ont the inner race is its inner diameter. Does yours have a 30 on it? As far as I know all models used the same size bearings.

No its not oval it just takes a bigger bottom race, the RGV's do this as standard, small top big bottom bearing, if i hold the standard race in place it only just catches on the cup in the headstock only about 1/3 of the bearing area has contact, hmmmm Norbie!! i need advice

SSY125 is the standard code for all tapers for all LC's ans all YPVS ann many more bikes. One is birrer then the other the outside should be the same and the bottom inner will have a biger hool to go over the bottom of the stem . Standard ones are crap so i dont know what that shop was going on about .

Just had a chat with a mate who races a brazilian and got a post from the other site (sorry was curios and need to know lol) Apparently these guys have just done their head bearings and confirm it does have a much larger outside diameter on the bottom bearing, just waiting to find out the bearing numbers and will post up once i get them
