Ok Guys Doin A Hybrid & Am Using A 4L1 Frame , Puttin A 350 YPVS Motor In , So I Sent The Log Book Of Changing Engine Size & No Had My Fingers Crossed But It Was Never Gonna Be That Easy This Is What Came Back From DVLA
You Must Provide evidence from the list below
A receipt of purchase on headed paper from a garage confirming the engine number engine size & the fuel type
an inspection report from an organisation such as AA or RAC
an inspection report provided for insurance purposes or written confirmation from the engine manufacturer showing the engine number & size...
If your existing engine has been converted or the change took place before you bought the vehicle we will accept
written conformation on headed paper from the garage that carried out the conversion OR
written confirmation of the change on headed paper from an independent garage.....
What have any of you guys done
Dave...

Then DVLA wonder why people don't bother telling them of change! It mearly encourages wrong doing because they make it so bloody complicated, I mean let's face it.. if it passes an MOT that should mean "road worthy" ?? There soon will be a section that reads "Or if you can't go through the hassle just send us money, the more money you send the quicker we respond" Rant over.. almost ps Im engaged in a similar war where I may as well break the damn bike and send DVLA the gas torch removed engine and frame numbers Now RANT over

Hmm... Similar experience here too, but I contacted them first by telephone to advise that I was changing the engine from a 250LC to 350LC, just a top end change, I was told the same as above, receipts, garage bills, inspections etc... So being a good lad, I put together a "scrap book" of the Ebay receipts, grubby till receipts for stuff etc, then phoned the DLVA asking where they wanted them to be sent, and to arrange an inspection, guy on the phone, was very interested, being a biker himself, asked if I had upgraded to a twin disc front brake, what swing arm was I running, he had a YPVS a while ago, BUT the long and short of it was , he said tick the box on the log book for cc change and just send the log book off! 2 weeks later Logbook back all done..!

Hi,
I would try and fool them by doing it in 2 stages.
1st fill in doc for engine number change, should be no questions asked, just done it.
2nd after you get doc back send away again with the cc change box ticked and new cc. If they query that it will be simple to get a garage/bike shop to do a note on headed paper stating that number and cc match.
May just sound alarm bells as both changed at once suggests an engine from a different bike that would need a report.
