With a stage 3 Race tune what are the power delivery characteristics ? Does it rob even more power from the bottom end of the rev range and make the power band higher and very narrow so you have to clutch slip and rev the nuts out of the bike to get anywhere ?

Stage 3 is essentially a meaningless descriptor. It can be (is) different with every owner/would be tuner. One man's stge1 is anothers' stge3 What engine design is also relevant. A valvie's valves help significantly in the midrange especially with a decent PV controller. So Port an LC and it's even more of an on/off powerband than stock. Only thing relevant is that: these ARE fragile engines. More you tune them the sooner they need rebuilding.
