Hello,
Forum virgin here, Long time 2 stroke yamaha fan, 87-90 "the bridge" lol and speradically ever since. I find myself finally biting off more than i can chew, and appempting an lc project. rz350 31k into an rd350lc frame. 35mm forks, 31k wheels, nk tzr250 2ma swingarm, 31k pegs, new small can allspeeds, just starting the build up now, 12 months of dribs and drab progress and preperation, failing misserably to keep to a tight budget... pics to come. I am at a loss as to what to do with the smaller coolant pipe which comes out of the head. on the 31k it goes back to just below the rad cap. i am using an rd350lc rad which does not have this extra nipple? sblack person. where does this coolant pipe go now? i think it is the thermostat bypass pipe. what is the normal procedure in such a conversion? also, i have kr1s carbs and new k&n's, but no throttle cable. companies such as venhill can make a cable for me, but i do not have a sample to send them can anyone offer me an alternative company that has done such a conversion and can do it using thier past experience? i know it will be expensive, but i have little choice as i cannot build my own. i tried to bodge a ypvs and lc cable, nearly, but no. then it broke.. thanks in advance for any advise given, much appeciated.

Some have plumbed it in at the top rad hose but can be blanked off at head with no problems.
Good luck with rebuild.

hello soccersmyth, I don't really know what issues to expect, all i know is i have the carbs and very little technical know how. if the cable was made to fit, or a tried and tested conversion i would most probably be able to fit one, but as of now i am not sure where to start or with what parts. i have tried to source a kr1 cable, but they seem to be impossible to get.
jessy, thanks for the info. are the swan necks just for better cable routing?
what cable set up do you have?

You can use a std YPVS cable with these tops, although I had to cut 7-8mm off the adjuster to get them to work right. I'll take a picture tomorrow to show you. Jess

I'm running into some of the problems that you're having.
It's good to know that other people have had similar problems and have overcome them; that's why this forum is so good.
Good luck with the project mate.

Actually you do not need the angled tops Even in the photo it's obvious that a cable direct into the carby will have less of a curve (less cable drag :-) than the metal bit...it's Free too :-)
