Hi All, im lookin to graft together a different headlight onto my F2 350 ypvs and wanted to know if anyone has any past experience or ideas to pass on, what i am looking to achieve is the following F2 Frame and original F2 clocks with a round headlight and a bikini fairing, its what to use for the headlight and clock bracketry, is it a case of cutting up the metal headlight bracket and altering it to fit a round clock and amend it to take the top fairing? any thoughts or comments welcome....cheers! I've done pretty much what you want to do (sorta!) Originally I used a headlight from an LC, but eventually went halves with someone from the RD forum for a pair of headlights from the new mini's - much better light, and fits right into the casing from the old LC/31K 'shell' - it also has an 'angel' lights type surrounding rim of light when on sidelights, so looks well cool too - passes MOT etc. perfect I put my F2 clocks into the cases from an LC - I like the symmetry, and used the original LC 'clock bracket' connected to my original F2 yokes with 2 small 'bars' extending from the F2 yokes out to the mounts in the original LC clock bracket, then used 2 readily available fork headlamp clamps to attach the headlight and indicators... simples! Would probably be best if I put up a couple of piccies, 'cos having read back through that, it's a bit hard to explain very well! - but basically, there are loads of ways to achieve what you're trying to achieve... probably as many ways to do it as there are peeps doing it - lol - and I'd bet lots are better then my solution, but I have very limited access to 'machine shop tools' and tend to solve most problems myself from things that can be grown, found or forraged - lol I'm outta here at 1600hrs so I'll take some piccies and post them up for you later, might at least give you some food for thought, but I'd have to add that having 'solved' this problem myself releatively easily, I have seen some mega overengineered solutions to this problem! Oh, and before anyone asks what about the temp gauge... I have a little gem on that front gents - I moved the 'High-Beam' light down to the space on the LC clocks where there is a little blanker (something to do with the Jap market?) on the clocks, it's at the bottom of the idiot lights, I had to cut out the blanker 'cos it's moulded in... and where the light for High Beam used to be (between the indicator lights on the clocks) there is now a nice neat little 3 digit indicator which tells you in degrees celcius what temp the engine it at and plugs into the orignal temp sender - these are a little gadget I make myself (I'm in the process of starting my own electronic development company), but I don't sell them yet and I don't want to get into trouble on here for mentioning them for sale (I apologise in advance to the mods if this is out of order putting this in here ) - but at least it might add yet more food for thought...

...and here's a better look at the clocks, it's all a bit rough at the moment 'cos I've been whipping the lot on & off loads to fit the F2 clocks 'innards' into a set of LC clocks to allow me to use the LC clock casing... I've also moved the 'High Beam' idiot light... and the hole you see where it used to be usually has 3 7-segment displays showing the temp, but I've had to remove it 'cos I buggered the cabling up trying to get too much done last night using just a bleedin' head torch for light - it's the only transport I have and my daily ride - fnarr fnarr - so I have to get mods done between finishing work and having to use it to get to work again... long story.. not for now Attachments:

I am in Atherton on Monday picking up my Hybrid from KAIS, Leigh is just down the road from where I work.
If it would be easier I can pick them up, pay for them and post them out to all who want them.
Give us a shout if I can help

all very neat, when i get to that point, i think ill get one, my buggest problem is the fairing, what fits the best on this set up TBH - I'm not too sure, I was going for the naked look as that's what I fell in love with back in the 80's Having said that, with enough thinking, swearing & skint knuckles - anything can be made to fit ;D... I was toying with the idea of the bikini fairing as I like the classic look it gives, but I don't have one to 'measure up' - I do have the original F2 full fairing but I've obviously changed the mounting setup for the clocks, so would have nowhere to mount the fairing to! But if it's any use to you, I can offer it up to the front end and take some picces for ya?
