Just thought i'd post a few pictures of my current bikes....the Tuono 125 probably won't interest you, but the other 2 will
so first, the commuting/hooning bike (the boring one)
bought it 2 years ago now for £500. nothing was wrong with it. the owner bought it from new in 2004, rode it for 6 months, then moved on to an r1 and left it in his garden!
now for the more interesting bits
This is my current racebike, a Yamaha 350LC (actually my dad's bike, but loaned to me for racing) I was originally intending to build a formula bantam, but got put off of it half way through building a machine, after other club riders were giving me false info and telling me i couldn't use certain parts which weren't against the rules. It had sat in my dad's workshop amongst other customers' bikes for some time, and when he offered it to me to race i jumped at the chance!
this is pretty much how it was, minus the race plates, and plus std footrests, lights, indicators, etc.
first outing on the completed bike, at Mallory park ACU test day last april. here's a picture of my dad with his bike
first ever flying lap on the bike
really early in the afternoon, just couldn't get on with the riding style at first
just completed my best lap, went for another one to try and beat it, braking later for the chicane out the back!
getting closer
closer....oh wait what's the backfiring noise?!
twisted crank anyone??
after 2 months, the engine was back together after John Vines of Rayleigh rebuilt and welded the crank for us. I aimed to just do Snetterton at the end of season, but carry on training.
so along came August, trackday booked, leathers on. let's try again!
changed leathers half way through to allow more movement on the bike
end of the second from last session
giving dad the thumbs up
lunch break, looking knackered after chasing a SRAD 750 round
Then along came race day......
all packed up and ready to go
dad making a brew
Then race 1 came. lined up on the grid in 40th position, a tad nervous, put the bike into first gear, and SNAP! *looks down* gear linkage is now underneath the bike, and my hand is straight up to delay the start. get taken off track and the others head off! it pissed it down during that race so i was kind of glad i missed out!
my dad and uncle making a new linkage!
back out, and doing okay. started in 40th again. needless to say the formula 750's came round pretty quick!
one lap later....
race 3, starting to put up a good fight...
in the paddock
aaaand now for the project, my 2012 race bike, a Yamaha YPVS 350(ish)
BAM!
yeahhhh...all i have is a frame, forks, and wheels (at the moment) got a looad of bits in the post, will make a project thread soon enjoy
