My clutch only had x1 fitted when i stripped it down. Are they a most, or can you get away without fitting them .

i dont think you need to fit them, i think it just makes the clutch engage smoother,but i could be wrong

1 guy has even used 1 to seal a perspex clutch window, which i might try myself sometime. ;D That would be me lol. There should be 7 of them in the clutch, one for each friction plate. And yup, these rings is not a must to have, I never ran my LC with them (and nowadays I can't even fit them as I use FZR 1000 plates which takes up the space where the rubber rings are originally located in a RD clutch) and the clutch works fine as long as you have the thing adjusted properly.
