just out of interest when you do track days on your lc's what top speed do they reach? mines on 250 gearing and it revs out @100mph, how much difference does the 350 gearing make? i dont want to over gear it and loose my lovely acceleration ;D

I was getting 110-115mph on the clock out of my old previous 350LC last year at Cadwell. That was completely std all bar original small can Allspeeds.

blimey! wonder how accurate my speedo is? mines got big reed blocks, reed spacers, 2 base gaskets and thinner head gasket, pod filters and small can allspeeds, it revs to 10k through the gears and at 100mph it is reving out at 10k.

Sounds like you need to gain a tooth on the front mate But it depends what 'track' you are on as to how much top speed you need ;D Tbh, adding a tooth to the front should hardly shave any acceleration at all. I would expect to see about 110 at 10k with +1 on the front Adam.

I had my 350 LC up to 90-ish mph a few times, clutch was slipping back then and it was on 280 mains so it was very rich, so I couldn't get up to more then 90-ish mph. The problem was - if the clutch didn't slip, the engine would slip out of the powerband - and if it managed to stay in the powerband, the clutch would start slipping. I fixed the clutch, rejetted and balanced the carbs etc, and the bike would easily go up to 90 mph again, it simply felt MUCH more powerful and no more bloody cluth slip! It happily cruised around at 90 mph and I'm sure I could have throttled her up to top speed (whatever speed that would be, I'd say around 100 to 105 mph?) with little effort. I never went up to top speed though because the bike was in a HORRIBLE condition for higher speeds. I don't even want to tell you how bad it was, haha. After a while we moved to another place and we don't have a 1,2 km long road to go bananas on anymore, well at least not one that is located in a urban enough place. We have a kind of highway-ish road nearby that would work fine, but the cops are always going back/forth there so it's like asking for trouble. And, quite frankly I have no need to top out my LC anymore, it's not fun, it's just scary lol. She might feel better now though cos it has new tapered headrace bearings, a steering damper, better ride heights, etc. I like to play around on lower speeds anyway, 2-3-4th gear woohoo!
