hi all just a quick one ,i run clear oil lines and every now and then i get some small air bubbles in one of the lines ,the pump is blead ,and nice and tight to the casing ,so should i be worried ,if i pull cable to max the bubbles wizz up to the carb so its pumping good . your info would really help and settle my mind . thanks chaps

while they are every now and again i wdnt think it would be too much of a problem, but if it is because its drawing air in somewhere then it is most likely only ever gunna get worse,so it really needs sorting.have you checked all the lines and at the connections?

the lines are not that old ,but to be fair i have not checked the lines there could be a small split where it pushes over the pump nipple i will take it off and cut it back and check . i am onley getting thease bubbles in one line ,the line that goes to left hand carb ..

If the seal between the pump and casing is good then it could be either air getting in via the lines as previously stated. Check all the connections are tight fits with good clips and new lines, check the breather for the oil tank is not blocked and make sure the oil you use is not too thick. OR Maybe the washer on the bleed screw is bad. Could even be the worm gear seal letting slight pressure into the pump, but then you would most likely see gear oil in the lines and the bubbles would probably be much worse. I had this problem with my 125 and that's what ultimately lead to me running premix (pain in the ass). But the air locks will likely get much worse if you ride the bike on a long run, causing oil starvation leading to seizure. Hope you get it sorted mate, let us know Adam

probably just air bleeding out the pump. If the drive oil seal goes it usually fills the gearbox. Seal is cheap and apart from having to take the clutch casing off easily changed.
Also as tank is higher and flow is slow the pressure in the pump is minimal so unlikely to suck air but will leak out.
Is the line with the air fed from the higher output on the pump where the air would pocket?

hi chaps well pretty sure the seal is good as gear box oil is fine ,as normal ,oil tank breather is not blocked oil is putoline ttx 100% synthetic and have used this for years . the bubbles are cumming out of the pump outlet at the back of pump if this makes sense . its onley tiney bubbles and not all the time ,any more thorts please thanks .. sid

when you have the bubbles in the line,do they back feed to the pump at all if you shut the motor down? just wandering if its possible there's an air leak on the carb side and its backfeeding down the line when its not running, then pumping it back out when its running.i dont know if it would do this even if there was a leak, but the fact that its only in 1 line suggests its an air leak somewhere on that side.

HI ,no the bubble goes up the pipe with the oil ,if i pull the cable it flys up there so at least its pumping good .
