hi all spent half a day trying too get a spark from my ypvs. tried loads of ways but it just wont spark.i put a new loom on and cdi +stator plate which i got off norbs he said it run fine so it can;t be them .ihave no switchs connected its just coil cdi +ypvs. i have no battery on neither but it should still spark right? too make things worse i have no kick start on at mo need some new seals.so just spinning the back wheel round fast. any advice please lads as i,m really strugging and its doing me head in . would love too use it this summer but at this rate no chance thanks pete. will try and get some pics on so you can all see it

i had this with mine,a battery gave it a better spark but like u say u don't really need one.could'nt see it that good without the battery also i would connect the switch gear with the kill switch on,this might affect it

pics would help and as scott says connect your switch gear up also is it f2 loom ? check the sidestand cut out block if it is

hi wiggy hows it going mate?, yep its a f2 loom but dont think its got the stand wiring or switch .its really been doing my head in mate ,but like me i bet you been there too, cheers

If it is a F2 loom it will have the side stand switch connector!
You need to put a wired loop to connect them together as it is a closed circuit! I used a little length of wire with a female spade on each end and plugged them in!

hi wiggy hows it going mate?, yep its a f2 loom but dont think its got the stand wiring or switch .its really been doing my head in mate ,but like me i bet you been there too, cheers yep been there it turned out id broken a wire in the stator winding really p1$$ed me off at the time
