Had to put a spare back wheel in because the bearing seats in my black wheel were too worn Also, just as I thought I had the jetting right, its spluttering like hell, indicating the warm weather has made it too rich Sterling end can is starting to fall to bits as well BUT on the up side I got some half decent pics

I had the same problem with my rear wheel on my 125 years ago and just fitted new bearings with loctite stud and bearing seal ,not ideal but worked ,maybe boring seat out to next size bearing if there's enough meat left

Thanks john, Yes there should be enough left to take it up a size, I will try some bearing seal and give it another go. I just want to check that the spluttering is rich jetting? Has anyone had this with their 125? Seams fine until about 5k rpms then just starts coughing and farting. Replaced plug, it ain't that. Was running like a right good en yesterday, took it out today and now this EDIT: I have a strong suspicion now that it might be a damaged reed petal. I'm running hy-tech reeds and they say they should be replaced every 1000 miles. I have now done nearly 1500 on them Will check it out.

Have you changed to reserve since yesterday ,maybe some crap in the fuel system now

Not switched onto reserve but I have filled up, put a little more oil in than normal and put in regular unleaded instead of super...
Its like a misfire, just started from no where.
The idle has been all over the place recently as well.
Will clean carb and inspect reeds.
Its fine in neutral and gets worse when under load.

LC'Adam, check so your ignition coil has a good earth. Maybe the bolts for the coil has come loose, causing the coil to rattle and lose earth every now and then. Or maybe a wire has a bad connection (if my memory serves me right there should be one wire from the coil going into the main loom). If you have bad connections at the ignition coil, you can get this splutter and loss of fire stuff when you rev it up a bit. It can feel exactly like the engine is running rich as hell.

Well just been in the garage for a tinker and ended up pulling off the coil to clean the contacts with a wire brush. Plugged it all back up to the loom checking all the bullets. Fired her up. Happy to report that jobs a good 'en ;D Pulls cleaner than ever with stock reeds reinstalled Before if you put it in top gear at 40mph and held the throttle wide it would struggle to pull past 5k rpms then go like a missile. The stock reeds have smoothed out the power a treat and its making the clutch slip like a b*****d so must be making more power now. In with the new clutch and I will connect up the oil pump and presto, just got to sort the slow leak on the head now Cheers for you help guys and thanks billy for telling me about the coil ;D Thanks Adam
