I tool my 350 to get it set up properly on a rolling road......I asked if it was safe to rev bike as engine had only been rebuilt 50 miles ago....From reading forums most seem to say 500 miles which seems crazy for a 2 stroke.. The guys were all bent over with laughter I was advised not worry and just "ride it".....Following the rolling road she's pushing out 40BHP at the wheel.....The jetting now seems fine and reving right upto red line no worries at all....He could have jetting to push out 45HP but he advised against as reliability starts to be compromised...Hopefully this does not sound like a load of tosh! Cheers MM

its always better to run in a high performance engine ,,,, its as far as in concerned really just the top end ie pistons and rings. I believe that this will add longer life to the motor and a good oil also is important. Norbo has got on the site a few good tips as to the actuall revs and mileage etc .... worth reading

Cheers Guys.......
She's done 300miles and running really nice indeed...Right upto redline no worries at all.
Iam a little concerned at the noise from thrust bearing on tickover. When pulling the clutch lever the noise disappears 100% and motor sounds so sweet.....I know all motors suffer this but is it a common issue on LC's?

probably just general gearbox/clutch noise mate. mine sounds a bit rough with the clutch out as well, and so does my rgv.

I thought I was flapping a little......Pull the clutch in and the motor sounds so sweet all the same.
The motor is real sweet and it will defo rev into the red but I'm a little apprehensive to try and the moment!
I had a YPVS in 1991 and that was real good on fuel compared to my 81 LC.......I reckon she's not doing much more than 30MPG...Not that it matters as its for smiles per miles.

bugger me!! I must be doin things a little on the girlie side then. am in the middle of running my 350 lc in and made my own run-in regime of first 200 miles at max 4000 rpm then next 200 at 5000 then next 200 at 6000 then 6000 plus carefully for next 200. by the time i've run it in, it'll be ready for its next re-build.
