Just had my fuel tank sandblasted underneath ready for spraying and it has a couple of pinholes..have heard there is a product you can pour into the tank..if so is this any good..does it work or am i better off having it welded/brazed?
Cheers

How do you go about treating it inside?

How do you go about treating it inside? there are tank cleaning products out there on the net but any rust treatment will do...b&q do a no nonsence rust remover.... f me its good!!! its keeping rust out with modern fuel thats the problem. tank liners/sealants are atacked by ethanol in petrol so most dont last!!! por15 is supposed to be the best but id like to see this in the flesh so to speak... i add some oil just to make sure..a capfull a tank..keeps thing a bit oilier in there Isn't it just, had a rust free tank on one of my bikes ( bloody was when I put it on last year) and after storing for the winter with 5 litres of fuel in it now has rust patches down the seams. This is why I sealed my other tank even though it had no leaks and only a couple of light rusty patches(por 15) Will find out in time how it lasts. New tactic for other bike ( frightened to look in it, was mint inside), bought a bottle of "dry fuel" from halfords, supposed to stop the moisture seperating out. Says put full bottle in a car tank so suppose a good slop in the tank when being stored. Not cheap but better than a new tank and paint job. Heard methilated spirits does the same thing, meths absorbs water but soluble in petrol. Steve

How does por15 work...do you just pour it into empty tank and leave it for a while?

Is it same scenario with the rust treatment as well..pour inside tank and leave for a while?

check theirs or KBS coatings websites and check the videos, simple to use, but time consuming to do, and... by all accounts well worth the effort.

After treating the rust you pour it in....keep rotating/rolling the tank so it coats the whole of the inside. If u have a suspect area leave tank propped so a build up goes there. Then after you drain off the excess. Instructions will tell you exactly how to do m8
