Chris, I have a set of Z1R carbs currently in the care of Tony of AJ's Vapourclean for ultasonic cleaning and vapour blasting. Check his website here.My 350 carbs will be sent to him later this year, his work is stunning,he does loads for the aircooled boys. I'm not sure if he's a member here to be honest, but I'm sure he won't mind the plug.

Hi The look and quality of vapour blasting is spot on...but if you want a cheap home recipe (have done this on my dt250) get a few bottles of that Jiff lemon juice, and strip carbs of all rubber and gaskets, boil for 10 mins and they come out a bit dull but free of all the muck and ready to polish up.

I honestly dont know Tonys process completely mate. They are vapour blasted so no beads there.I gave him the carbs and got them back as you see them with all the extranious bits re-zinced, I'm sure somebody on here will be able to go into more detail.I had them done more for function than form because of the ultrasonic cleaning process. They'd been stood for years and were awful inside. My bike is a heap though and now they look like jewels in a poo.
