Am I right thinking the expander ring shall be sitting on the lower groove? It doesn't seem to fit very well on the upper but I want to be sure.. Edit: It's for a 125.

Hmm, well bloody hell now you're making me nervous. I want piston slap reduced as much as possible (even though the bore is fresh and it has a new piston) but if it is too risky then f**k no.. EDIT: I have now done a search on the RD/RZ chat and it seems these rings goes pop from time to time, even when trying to slide the barrel over the piston rings. So, naah, I'll leave it out tbh, don't want to risk it.

Well it's too late, I bent the f**k outta that ring to see what forces it could withstand, and it didn't break at all, it just bent. Now it's trash lol.. Oh well..
FYI it was a TKR piston. Is that what Yamaha put in the engines originally?
