Just a quick hello and a quick introduction,
My main bike is a great big Onda CB1000r with a ful Akra system/powercommander set up, 130 bhp at the back wheel. It's fast and handles well but is, well, a bit uninspiring. Been down the sports bike route but got a bit frustrated riding them unless I was on a trackday.
Been a fan of the original 31k for years but until recently could not afford a second bike.
I managed to get hold of my first YPVS about six years ago and have been slowly riding and finishing it off and it is finally finished.
I was going to do a hybrid with it but all my mates have told me it was too good to rip to bits so about 2 months ago I managed to get myself a non runner that was a bit rough around the edges but it was all there.
I have stripped it down, got a load of blingy bits and a new crank coming from TSS in Australia. The barrels are with pj engineering having a rebore and being vapour blasted before going down for a bit of porting.
Martin 77 is a mate and he has got the engine down in deepest Devon and he is doing the tune(after much begging!) and he has agreed to hydroform me a set of pipes for it so along with the pwk 28's the engine should be a healthy one, hoping for 65 hp and a nice flat torque curve
I have never built a hybrid before so I hope the people on this forum don't mind stupid questions! Cos I may be posting some up in the
I dropped the frame off with Nigel Kimber last week, I am having a complete KR1s back end grafted in along with a Ducati 900 super light front end complete with the brembo brake calipers with the matching kwak front wheel which I have put on some zzr 750 discs.
I have decided I prefer the 5 spoke alloys so I am using these instead af the traditional 3 spoke jobbys.
Looks more like a novel rather than a first post but just a quick hello.
The engine and frame should be boxed off by the end of January so will update with pictures then.
All the best
Willie
