Hi all, Some of you may remember this thread was started b4 but appears to have been lost in cyber space This has been on the go for 2 years already - hoping to be on the road spring 2011. Started like this:- Had a stem made to fit fit frame and ZXR400L yokes New spindle made to take KR1S wheel with Blackshadow wavy discs NC30 rear swinger fitted Phos bronze shims between swinger & frame Cut and plastic welded the oil tank to fit NC30 hub modified to take 17" wheel from VFR750 - Rick Oliver NC30 specialist. From this to this Came across a set of ZX6R radial forks so just had to use them, just won a set of fireblade monobloc caliper on evilbay - over kill well yeah but what the hell. Also need another new axle making. Acewell 4000 series speedo on order, will then be asking spondon440 (keep an eye out for a pm ;D) to make me a set of yokes. Will be getting in touch with Mick Abbey with regard to pipes in the new year. Photon twin projector lights up front when back in stock. Not sure yet what to do with rear bodywork/seat. Not keen on the std rear light & side panels - prefer the 31K setup. Nitron rear shock me thinks. Colour scheme was going to be Roberts rep but having second thoughts now, might go with black & gold (JPS colour scheme). Any suggestions as to which rear sets will fit? Will update as & when

Very & very similar to mine ;D like the seat unit. Is it the way the photo was taken or is the rear wheel not central

Bit of an update. New pipes from Abbey, engine stripped & vapour cleaned, thinking of trying to graft this seat unit on. ...I don't think yer dog is, but I'm well impressed with this build! I too have picked up some of these forks so will be interested to see how you get on with the springing and damping. The seat unit looks c**k-on too, 'just...' need to extend the front edge or cut away more I suppose. Infills wouldn't look too hot... Keep the piccies coming .

...I don't think yer dog is, but I'm well impressed with this build! Dog is never impressed unless you give him attention I too have picked up some of these forks so will be interested to see how you get on with the springing and damping. Think it will be a case of trying thinner fork oil first, will probably send them away to get sorted to suit bike eventually - probably next winter as I will be financially embarrassed when its finished ;D

Looking good, I love single siders, would look good with GP style pipes up the left side so as not to oscure the open wheel look.

Cannot use GP style pipes on the other side - the pipes would stick out to far cos of the swinger. That's the reason no-one uses a pipe either side on this type of conversion.

Hi Scottie, Wish I could, not much further on than the last pic. Have found some headlamp mount brackets, thats about it. Lack of funds, time and people letting me down with getting parts made have slowed things considerably. Will have to bit the bullet and pay to get stuff made ;D Have promised my cousin it will be on the road next year so we can go to a couple of 2012 BSB rounds. Will have to travel now that there is no round at Croft

Quick update on hybrid, on the road but not finished, just needed to get it used to check for problems (few to sort). Passed MOT so at least I can check things on the road. Single seat to be sorted over the winter & a decent paint job - silver with speed block design?? Just rattle canned at the moment but looks better than bare steel/plastic Few other jobs to do include new brake/clutch levers, rear set mountings, powder coat frame/swing arm - thinking of a mat black finish
