have stripped the master cylinder down what state its in anyway cleaned it out.like lumpy gravy inside the glass viewer is gunked up. looks like it will only push out.any advice on how to do it? how is it held in?for when i ts replaced

Did Mine The Other Day With Some Help From Here, Take The Clip Of The Inside & Just Push It Out All Thats Holding It In Is An O-Ring ....Hope This Helps....

Mine Had A Stainless clip on the inside ...Although mines a 4L1 i guess they are held in the same .....If not im sure some one will chip in and help out ..........

Long nose pliers and a scribber did mine.It was quiet fiddly at first but not to bad in the end.I dont think you can get the new plastic sightglass though.

Any tips with what to fix a new glass in there with? I hate throwing stuff away so I'm refurbing mine.

As an aside one should Realy! be fitting the 1/2" master to a 350CC 4lo as well. Braking will be significantly improved as result. Proof is in the trying :-)

F2 ones do not appear to be held in by anything. The replacement glasses from Norbo are thinner therefore I'm unsure how to make it stay in the hole!

Watchhislegs I was told araldite to fix the replacement glass in but not done myself. Norbo is that the glass or plastic ones??

Good thinking, it's just a bit messy; brake fluid is also vicious stuff.
