Just picked up an 07 R1 sidestand for my build as it looks the right length and also seems nicely made in alloy and includes the bracket and kill switch (sadly useful to me). Has anyone else ever fitted one to an RD? Happy to hear and see pics if you have rather than re invent the wheel... er stand... oh ek... LOL ;D

LOL ;D Hi, Had an 06 R1 stand on my Lc2 for a short while, problem is that the RD stand is straight and the R1 has an angle on it, makes it clash with the gear pedal. Best to check before butchering anything. Have a TZR 250 stand on mine, same problem but using rearsets so not so bad. Steve.

Interesting... Mine seems straight... I will have to do a photo. so maybe different from the 06? I was thinking if there was a clash I could maybe spacer out the bolt boles of the stand a bit to help clear the pipes. I also have rearsets on my bike so maybe wont have an issue. Here is a photo of another stand from the net, anyone know this build?

I should add that i think my stand is steel not alloy now ive looked more at it... Alloy didnt really make much sense as the foot would wear quickly i think.

Very similar to the 06 one I had ( was actually an 05 model ) Sure it was alloy, at least it seemed loke alloy the way it broke of a lug and wore away when I parted company with it exiting a roundabout - ouch££££££ Steve.

Oooof! sounds nasty Steve! The mounting is alloy, I'll check the stand itself with a magnet when im next in the garage.
Do you have any photos of yours on your bike?

Sorry but didnt take pics of the R1 stand. Braket was not used, just modded the pivot to go in the standard lug hole and made a plate to stop it rotating. It still clashed with the standard pegs and it was damaged so went back to the tzr one and fitted rearsets. Had thought of cutting the frame lug and fitting the bracket but as frame was already coated gave it a miss. Would be a good mod though. Steve.

No worries mate. Yes I was thinking of using the whole R1 unit in its entirity and cutting down the bracket on the frame so it would be a neat fit. I need to mock it up which is a bummer as Im down to a bare frame at the mo ready for powder, but defo would do this before i get the powder done. :/
